Food poisoning hits Wazito FC camp

Kenya Premier League side Wazito FC has been hit by food poisoning cases that has affected over nine players.

According to a source who spoke to Nairobi News on anonymity grounds the KPL moneybags said the situation forced the team to cancel its Tuesday training.

“Most of the players reported sick on Tuesday so we could not train. Efforts were instead channeled towards having them treated,” a source at the club told Nairobi News.

The situation has forced Wazito FC defender Johnstone Omurwa to pull out of Kenya’s international friendly match pitting Mozambique slated for Sunday this week at Kasarani Stadium after experiencing stomach upsets.

It is believed the players could have consumed contaminated food at a kibanda within Nairobi before last weekend’s league match against Mathare United
