Female MP kicked out of Parliament for bringing baby to the chambers

Kwale Woman Representative Zuleika Hassanwas on Wednesday was kicked out of parliament for bringing her five-month-old baby to the chambers.

Luanda Mp Chris Omulele who was serving speaker ordered Zuleika to get out of parliament.

Omulele told Zuleika that Parliament was not the right place to take care of her child.

“As much as she has a right to take care of her child, this not the right place, I therefore direct that you immediately withdraw from the chambers,” ordered Mr Omulele.

Zuleika on her defense while addressing the press after outside the chambers said she got an emergency in the morning and had to come with the baby to Parliament.

“I had an emergency and decided not to miss work but come with the baby. She is not an atomic bomb and can’t explode,” Ms Hassan said.
