Father to the Dusit terrorist speaks out

The Dusit D2 terrorist master minder, Ali Salim Gichunge alias Farouk, has had his father speak out. The father, who is a KDF sergeant, has recorded in a police statement that he lost touch with his son in 2015.

He stated that he is still in shock knowing that his son is among the 6 involved in the Tuesday evening heinous attach at 14 Riverside drive complex.

Farouk was born and bred in Isiolo under strict muslim religion . His father is from Isiolo while the mother is from Majengo in Nyeri.

The father suspects that his son could have lost focus and strayed in life after he separated with his wife in 2010. In 2015, Farouk went to Mombasa to study Islamic religion as he aimed to become an imam.

The KDF sergeant suspects that it could be in Mombasa where his son was radicalized.

“He was tapped from Majengo in Nyeri, then taken to Mombasa where he could have been radicalised,” he stated.

Farouk’s mother, Salma Gichunge, was yet to record her statement with the police.
