EACC takes on Samburu Governor Lenolkulal

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Wednesday challenged an application by Samburu County Governor Moses Lenolkulal seeking access to his bank accounts.

EACC told Court that Governor Lenolkulal had failed to account for Ksh 121 million being held in his bank accounts.

“The governor has not demonstrated to the court at all that the money in respect of which the discharge or variation are sought was not acquired as a resist of corrupt conduct,” the court heard.

EACC insisted that the embattled Governed acquired his wealth through corruption deals hence he should not be guaranteed access to his accounts.

”There are reasonable grounds to suspect that the money was obtained as a result of corrupt conduct which they sufficiently demonstrated in its application and which the court found to be hence the orders issued,” argued EACC.

Lenolkulal had moved to Court seeking access to his bank accounts after they were freezed on corruption grounds.
