Did DP Ruto honour his KSH 5O Million Pledge to Harambee Stars

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) on Tuesday confirmed to have received Ksh 50 million pledge from Deputy President William Ruto.

Government also released KSh244 million meant for Harambee Stars preparations for the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Finals.

FKF observed that Ksh 50 million had already been shared to the team that participated in the AFCON qualifications matches.

FKF boss Nick Mwendwa said that the money is a big boost in the national team preparations for the AFCON matches.

“We want to sincerely thank the government not only for the release of this funds but also for the unwavering support we continue to receive around our national teams,” FKF president Nick Mwendwa said.

“It is our strong belief that the Ksh 244 million, further demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting football and the long term growth of the sport,” added the FKF president.

Deputy President William Ruto had promised the team Ksh 50 million if they qualified for Africa Cup of Nation.
