Detained Ugandan gays subjected to force anal examination
Ugandan government on Wednesday, subjected at least 16 homosexual into a forced anal examination following their arrest on Monday.
According to Daily Nation, the 16 were rescued from angry mob, but were then arrested and charged under a colonial-era anti-gay law.
Executive Director of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) Frank Mugisha, who spoke to the publication confirmed that the arrested 16 were examined forceful before being charged.
“Last night (Wednesday) the police subjected them to forced anal exams,” said Mugisha.

Ugandan Police spokesman Patrick Onyango said by WhatsApp that “following new developments based on the medical examination report it was established that the suspects were involved in sexual acts punishable under the penal code.”
The new Anti-Homosexuality Bill being considered by Uganda’s Parliament proposes a life sentence for engaging in “homosexual activity” and the death sentence for “aggravated homosexuality”.
The bill also imposes a sentence of seven years in prison for anyone providing protection or assistance to LGBT individuals.
