DCI impounds contraband rice

Detectives from office of Director of Criminal Investigation on Wednesday night impounded contraband rice in Kirinyaga County.

According to the DCI detectives were able to nab over a thousand bag of contraband rice in Mwea.

“Last night, an operation to clamp down on contraband goods led @DCI_Kenya Detectives based in #Kirinyaga to a residence in Mwea East where a search was conducted. The search resulted in the confiscation of more than a thousand bags of suspected contraband white rice.” Said the DCI.

It was also revealed that the rice was imported from Pakistan and it’s now being held by the police.

“The rice whose origin is Pakistan is currently being guarded by police officers as investigations into the continues,” added the DCI.
