Court denies Governor Waititu KSH 16.5 billion
High Court on Friday suspended Kiambu County Sh16.5 billion supplementary budget for not following the right procedure.
Justice James Makau stopped the county from implementing the budget until the case is determined.
Ten Kiambu MCA moved to court seeking an intervention saying that the laid procedures were not followed.
The MCAs, through lawyers James Mamboleo and Titus Ochichi, told the court that the county was in process of acquiring funds from the National Treasury.
They alleged that the finance Committee was not involved, standing orders violated hence the county does not deserve the amount.
Justice Makau directed that the county and Control budget be served with court orders as the mention is set for April 9.
