Caroline Mwatha died procuring an abortion – DCI
The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has issued a report indicating that the Dandora based human rights activist Caroline Mwatha, died at the hands of a ‘doctor’ while procuring an abortion on a five-month pregnancy.
It is reported that Ms. Mwatha was always in constant communication with her alleged lover identified as Alexander Gitau Gikonya.
The report further indicates that Caroline and Alexander’s phone conversations revolved around termination of a five-month pregnancy.
An identified doctor is said to have demanded Kes 7,000 for the job but was later negotiated to Kes 6,000.
Alexander then sent her the money and she proceeded to the doctor’s place. It is believed that she died during the botched abortion process.
The activist, who went missing on Wednesday 06th February had her body checked-in at Nairobi City Mortuary on Thursday 07th February at 04:42am. The body had been transported by an uber driver identified as Stephen Maina, according to records at the morgue.
Following the investigations, the police have made six arrests that they believe are very significant and corr to this case.
