Boniface Murage given 3-Month Suspended Sentence
After the bill of KES 56,000 for Boniface Murage had been settled at Kenyatta National Hospital, he was handed a 3 month suspended sentence.
This means that he will not go to prison but he will be keenly watched by the state. In case he commits any offense in the set period, then he will have to serve the 3 months from the prison.
Boniface Murage is 22 years old and was arraigned at Milimani Law Courts yesterday where he pleaded guilty on the charge of having attempted to smuggle his daughter out of the hospital without paying the bill.
Mr. Murage had stated that the circumstances he is in had forced him to attempt to smuggle his daughter. He said that he had no money to settle the hospital bill.
BBC TV personality Larry Madowo helped Murage with a lawyer to represent him in court.
