Ambassador deletes tweet about Court ruling on homosexuality

Netherlands Ambassador to Kenya Frans Makken on Friday deleted a tweet after being bashed by netizens.

Makken took to social media minutes after three high court judges ruled, homosexuality remains illegal in Kenya.

Ambassador Makken said that it is unconstitutional to bane sex of the same gender.

“Very disappointing: High Court of Kenya declines to repeal the 162 section of the penal code which criminalizes same-sex conduct as this section is not deemed unconstitutional,” the envoy’s tweet read.

Kenyan on twitter bashed bashed him claiming that homosexuality was still a ‘foreign idea’ in Kenya. Makken was forced to pull down the tweet after the reaction from Kenyans.
