AFC scores a hatrick after ten years

JohnMark Makwatta ended AFC Leopards hatrick drought after netting three goals against Zoo FC in a KPL match played at Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday.

DeMonde Selenga was the last player to score three goals in a single match back in 2010 against KCB in a match staged at City Stadium.

Makwatta first got into the score sheet in the 24th minute after converting a foul few meters away from the penalty box.

The Harambee Stars player was on target again in the 67th before completing the hatrick on 81st minute.

Boniface Muhehe also scored for AFC Leopards in the matjch that endende 4-1 in favor of the cash strapped Ingwee leaving the club in position seven with 25 points.

Leopards got into the game with key players missing in the starting line up due to financial challenges facing the club. The team has faced a major blow with players terminating contractors and others switching clubs.

KPL money bags Wazito FC has already acquired the signature of AFC defender Denis Shikhayi and experienced midfielder Whyvonne Isuza.

The giant Kenyan Premier League side has also lost players Tresor Ndikumana, Ismailia Diarra, Vincent Habamahoro and Soter Kayumba after they all terminated their contracts.
