A man kills self because he is HIV positive

A man reportedly took his own lifein Pipeline Estate Nairobi, last week after testing HIV positive.

Henry Mesha, the 28-year-old is alleged to have taken an overdose of antiretroviral (ARV) drugs and 5 litres of pesticide.

Mesha’s neighbour Joyce Kemunto who spoke to Kenyans recalled the last moments with the deceased saying she never expected such action from him.

“I saw him on the fateful day being ferried by a motorbike from the stage, 200 metres away from his house, which was uncharacteristic of him, but I could not imagine that he was rushing home to take his life,” she told The Standard.

It was revealed that the deceased had informed his sister that he was going to Mbagathi hospital to seek medical attention after experiencing chest pain.

It was after his trip to Mbagathi that is believed to have taken his own life away using the two months ARV prescribed to him.
