6th MMUST student dies under mysterious circumstance

Belinda Akeyo Achieng’ is the sixth student in Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology was found dead in her room on Wednesday evening.

According to Witness the deceased went missing on Tuesday only for her body to be found locked in her room.

Charles Ochieng’ who spoke to the Standard said that the deceased body was bleeding at the time she was found.

” We found her lifeless body lying on the floor and blood oozing from her mouth and private parts,” Mr Ochieng’ said.

Kakamega County Police Commander Bernard Muli, who confirmed the incident said police have launched investigation into the matter to establish what caused Akeyo’s death.

“I will be meeting with the university management this week so that they can help us to know why Mmust students are dying at an alarming rate,” he said.

The deceased was 22-year-old Fourth Year Bachelor of Education student and had just reported back to the institution after completing her industrial attachment.
