22-year-old Bomet woman gives birth to quadruplets

It was early Valentines celebrations for Faith Chepngetich Tonui, 22-year-old who gave birth to four babies on Thursday at the Tenwek Mission Hospital in Bomet.

However the new mother of four was not happy person as the babies opened new struggles in her life. The babies were placed in an incubator after they were born prematurely weighing 1.4, 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1kgs respectively.

According to Citizen Digital Faith is a casual laborer at Silibwet trading center, now a mother of five is worried on how she will clear her hospital bill since she will might stay long in hospital.

She narrated how she has been struggling financially and sometimes forced to sleep on empty stomach.

“My husband is not employed, I have another child at home, we sometimes sleep on empty stomachs, now I don’t know.. ” she lamented.

Nurses at the hospital who attended to her said that she is in a stable condition and they are working on her diet to make sure she remains stable.

“The mother is doing well, she can walk around without any complication, the challenge is in her diet, which we are working on,” the nurse said.
